The Greater Derry-Salem Cooperative Alliance for Regional Transportation (CART) provides shared-ride HC-accessible van transportation to the public with emphasis on seniors and disabled residents of Chester, Derry, Londonderry, Salem, and Hampstead. CARTgoes to any destination within the five-town service area and may accommodate transportation for medical appointments out of the service region in Manchester. Community Caregivers of Greater Derry Volunteer Care-Giving Program provides free transportation assistance to vulnerable elderly and disabled individuals from seven southern New Hampshire communities. https://comcaregivers.org/.  Their wait list may be long but it is worth the wait!

Greater Salem Caregivers provides assistance to adults who are homebound, in order to help them develop and maintain independence within their own homes and community. Services are provided through a network of community volunteers.  They provide transportation, friendly visits, errands, and grocery shopping.  https://salemcare.org/

The Bureau of Elderly and Adult Services (BEAS) provides a variety of social and long-term supports to adults age 60 and older and to adults between the ages of 18 and 60 who have a chronic illness or disability. Community Caregivers of Greater Derry has many programs https://comcaregivers.org/  There Volunteer Care-Giving Program provides free in-home and transportation assistance to vulnerable elderly and disabled individuals from seven southern New Hampshire communities.   The Loaner’s Closet for Durable Medical Equipment loans out wheelchairs, walkers, commodes, bath seats, etc. to anyone in NH who needs it for as long as they need it, free of charge.  Project Upkeep is a special set of "handyman"  volunteers that make handicap improvements and repairs to our low-income clients' homes.

The Talking Books Program https://www.nh.gov/nhsl/talking_books/  exists to meet the reading needs and interests of New Hampshire residents who are physically unable to see, handle or process printed material comfortably.  Borrow their easy-to-user audio player and get books through the mail. Talking Book Services provides library materials to over 2,000 New Hampshire residents and lends over 70,000 audio and braille books each year. Examples of physical problems that may be eligible: arthritis of hands & wrists, blindness, dyslexia, epilepsy not fully controlled, head injuries, macular degeneration, multiple sclerosis, muscular dystrophy, stroke aftermath, Stryker frame.

The Pleural Mesothelioma Center treats pleural mesothelioma which is a deadly form of cancer caused by asbestos exposure. Due to the long latency period of mesothelioma, approximately 20-50 years, about 80% of those who are diagnosed with this terrible disease are seniors. This organization works 1-on-1 with these individuals to help them find local doctors, treatment centers and support groups, all for absolutely no cost to the patient.
